'Til death do us part? It's been five years since Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver split and moved on with their lives. In fact, he has a girlfriend and she has a boyfriend.
Oddly, though, Arnold and Maria are not remotely close to actually being divorced, despite Maria filing in 2011 after 25 years of marriage.
So, what's the hold up? Who knows!
The duo married in 1986 and didn't have a prenup, but according to TMZ, they worked out an agreement about their respective fortunes years ago, splitting up an estimated $400 million.
They also never had any squabbles about custody of their children. Besides that, they're all adults now.
The former couple hasn't really shed any light on why they're still married. There are several theories, one of them stating that neither wants to walk about from the fortune they're amassed together, but that line of thinking doesn't make sense because of their aforementioned agreement.
TMZ says that another theory is that Maria "doesn't believe in divorce" because she's "super religious." Still, Arnold could make things official if he wanted. Apparently he has no interest in pulling the plug on the marriage.
Last October, there was a report that Arnold was the one wanted to maintain the status quo.
"Whenever Maria says she wants to move on with her life, Arnold drags his feet," a source told TMZ.
In 2015, the "Terminator" star blamed himself for the dissolution of his marriage.
"This was without a doubt the biggest setback and the biggest failure [in my life]," he said. "Not only failure, but you really feel like, 'I'm to blame for it. It was me that screwed up,' and you can't point the finger at anyone else."
Five years and counting... And you thought Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrowtook a long time to officially split!

  • They met on the set of her "Material Girl" video and tied the knot in 1985. Their marriage was so riddled with drama, jealousy and violence that they were nicknamed the "Poison Penns" before they split just two years later. They were opposites from the start: Madonna, 55, craved the spotlight, while Sean despised it so much that he shot at the helicopters hovering above their 1985 wedding.   • After four kids, seven years of seemingly constant PDA, and those yearly themed vow-renewal ceremonies, the singer and the supermodel's split in January 2012 came as a huge shock. Things quickly deteriorated when people close to Heidi hinted that the split was caused by Seal's anger-management issues -- then got worse when Seal, 50, accused Heidi, 40, of hooking up with their longtime bodyguard Martin Kristen after photos surfaced of the pair vacationing together. "Whilst I didn't expect anything better from [Martin]," Seal told TMZ, "I would of thought that Heidi would have shown a little more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were." He tried to backtrack on his comments but the damage was done. Just days later, Klum confirmed her budding relationship with Martin -- who's still her boyfriend today.
  • Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke lived as partners for almost 14 years after meeting on the set of "The Outlaw Josey Wales." Their relationship was full of drama: Sondra later said she had two abortions during their relationship because Clint Eastwood didn't think kids fit into their lifestyle. Then, while Sondra was away filming "Impulse," Clint Eastwood packed up all of her belongings from their home and put them into a storage unit and changed the locks on their home. They later settled their dispute outside of court after Sondra sued Clint. What a disaster!
  • Nothing turns a celebrity split sour quicker than a bitter custody battle. And it doesn't get more toxic than the war between Halle, 47, and ex-boyfriend Gabriel, 37, over daughter Nahla following their 2010 breakup. They'd never seen eye-to-eye when it came to custody -- but when Halle got serious with new boyfriend (and current husband) Olivier Martinez and tried to move Nahla to France, her model ex put up a legal fight to keep their daughter in L.A. -- and won. Things came to a dangerous head on Thanksgiving 2012 when Gabriel and Olivier got into a brutal fistfight that sent both men to the hospital.

But then a strange thing happened: As Charlie's marriage to third wife Brooke Mueller crumbled, he and Denise grew slowly friendly again. "In the last few years, things have gotten really great with us," Denise told HuffPo Live. "We're very close and we're good friends, which is great because it's great for our kids." They're so close, in fact, that Denise is now raising Bob and Max -- Charlie's twins with Brooke -- while their mother continues to struggle with her addiction issues. "I will be there for him no matter what," Denise recently told Oprah Winfrey.
  • Liza wed David in 2002 in New York City in front of a slew of celebs including Michael Jackson, who served as best man (he even carried the bride's train), Elizabeth Taylor, as Liza's maid of honor, and 17 bridesmaids, including Mia Farrow, Esther Williams, Mya, Petula Clark, Chaka Khan and Janet Leigh. Just 14 months later, the honeymoon was over -- but their divorce battle raged on for years. The Broadway legend, 67, and the concert promoter, 60, dragged it out with low blow after low blow: Not only did David sue Liza for $10 million for alleged assault, claiming he was injured when she beat him during alcoholic rages -- he said she had herpes and had knowingly exposed him to the sexually transmitted disease. Meanwhile Liza countersued, saying he'd stolen $2 million from her and that she lived in fear of her ex because he'd been "trying to poison her with drugs." After years of legal wrangling, it was finally over in 2007 when both agreed to a no-fault divorce.
  • Tom and Nicole's divorce was fraught with emotional drama. Less than two months after they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, Tom, 51, blindsided Nicole, 46, when he filed in February 2001 -- then legally tried to claim the marriage was over before their 10th anniversary, a key milestone in California divorce law for financial issues. "This divorce was not her decision," claimed a statement from Nicole's camp after Tom's rep insisted it was an amicable parting. "Tom made the move. Nicole is in a state of shock." Then came the news that Nicole had suffered a miscarriage after the split. Tom also got custody of their kids -- something many claimed was because of their Scientology beliefs. And who can forget that talked-about People magazine story that had everyone guessing the true reason behind their breakup? According to the magazine, Tom cryptically told a source, "Nic knows exactly why we are getting a divorce." Ooof. "It took me a very long time to heal," Nicole told DuJour magazine. "It was a shock to my system."
  • They famously wed in 1995 after knowing each other for 96 hours. But the Playboy star and the Motley Crue drummer's marriage quickly got out of hand. She filed for divorce twice and they reconciled twice. Then Tommy, 50, served 180 days in jail for spousal abuse. While they were embroiled in a bitter custody fight, Pamela, 46, revealed she had hepatitis C and blamed her ex. "Tommy has the disease and never disclosed it to me during our marriage," she said in 2002. Tommy's camp called the allegations "outrageous," and the battle raged on: "Hopefully she will realize that she is only doing more harm to her children and herself by trying to use the media as a tool to hurt Tommy and their two boys," Tommy's camp said at the time. But the dysfunction wasn't over yet: Despite years of bitter feuding, they reconciled -- again -- in 2008, before going their separate ways for good.
  • They called it quits in 2002 -- and Justin, now 32, started implying that it was because Britney, now 31, had cheated on him with choreographer Wade Robson during their three years as a couple. "You get to a point when you're crying yourself to sleep every night. I feel like I'm in the middle of a soap opera," Justin told People after the split. He took things public when he released a song about their breakup -- "Cry Me a River" -- and hired a Britney look-alike to star in the video. Britney was devastated. "I think everyone has a side to their story to make them feel a certain way," she told Diane Sawyer in 2003, "and I'm not technically saying he's wrong -- but I'm not technically saying he's right either …"
  • In 1992, 11 years after their fairy-tale wedding, Charles and Diana announced their separation -- a shocking move for the heir to the British throne. But their split had been a long time coming. Charles -- who thought his wife was emotionally unstable and needy -- had long been cheating on her with his mistress, now wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles. "Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded," Diana famously told the BBC. A devastated Diana, who suffered from bulimia and depression, also strayed, most notably with red-headed Army officer James Hewitt, who's falsely been rumored to be Prince Harry's father. After years of tense negotiations, the royals were finally divorced in 1996, with Diana receiving a lump-sum payment believed to be worth about $32 million -- but she had to give up the title of "Her Royal Highness." Diana died just one year after their divorce was finalized.
  • The drama started long before the divorce -- remember when Usher's mom refused to attend her son's wedding? But after the music star and the stylist split in 2009, things got ridiculous as they kicked off a bitter custody battle over their two sons, <a href="http://www.wonderwall.com/music/Usher-747.celebrity">Usher</a> Raymond V and Naviyd. It's been playing out in Georgia courtrooms ever since. In 2012, Tameka, 42, accused Usher, 34, of sleeping with one of her bridesmaids during their two-year marriage and using drugs while the boys were in his care. He testified that she'd physically attacked him, spit on his new girlfriend, and threw a plate of food at their car. <a href="http://www.wonderwall.com/music/Usher-747.celebrity">Usher</a> was granted full primary custody of the boys, but the battle raged on. In August 2013, Tameka tried to regain custody again -- but lost -- after their oldest son, nicknamed "Cinco," almost drowned trying to get a toy out of a pool drain while being looked after by Usher's aunt.
  • The wrestling legend (real name: Terry Bollea) got wind of the news that his wife of 23 years was divorcing him when a newspaper reporter called for a comment -- and things only went downhill from there. The stars of the reality series "Hogan Knows Best" fought about everything from money to allegations that Hulk cheated with one of his daughter's friends to whether or not Linda's boyfriend -- a guy 30 years her junior who'd gone to school with her own kids -- was allowed to drive their cars. Linda, 53, eventually got a $7.4 million settlement, plus several houses and cars in their 2009 divorce, after which she declared: "The war is over." Well, almost. In 2011, Hulk, 60, sued her for defamation, claiming much of what she wrote about him in her book "Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes" wasn't true -- including accusations that Hulk had physically abused her and that he had a homosexual relationship with another wrestler.
  • Their marriage fell apart after Eddie got caught cheating on Brandi with LeAnn Rimes, who's now his wife -- but four years after their split, the mudslinging is still going on. The former swimsuit model, 40, has accused Eddie of cheating with other women, while reports that Brandi was also unfaithful during their marriage have emerged. And while Eddie, 40, has mostly remained mum and refused to engage in the drama, Brandi turned her bitter divorce into a lucrative career, using it not only to land herself a spot on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," but to land a book deal too: Her tome "Drinking & Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders," released in February 2013, quickly became a best-seller.
  • After 13 years together, the "Frasier" star and the former Playboy model went their separate ways -- but neither went quietly. As they battled over custody of their two kids and Kelsey's fortune -- they reportedly didn't have a prenup -- Camille told Howard Stern that Kelsey liked to cross-dress, while Kelsey admitted to an affair with current wife Kayte (he later told Conan O'Brien he and Camille "hadn't had sex in a decade"). Kelsey explained that he appeared with Camille on "The Real Houswives of Beverly Hills" as a gift to her. "That was a way of saying, 'Here's what you always wanted, I'm gone,'" he told "Good Morning America." "With my grace, go have that famous life you wanted."
  • They wed in 1989 and had two daughters together, but by the time he filed for divorce in January 2006, there was no love lost between The Hoff and actress Pamela, now 49. He accused her of drinking too much and using cocaine, while she claims he beat her, had herpes, and often wet himself because he drank so much. They finally settled their issues later the same year, with The Hoff owing his ex $25,000 a month in support payments. He has recently petitioned the court to have his payments to her be reduced.
  • The singer wed the former Miss Universe In 2000 and they went on to have two sons together during their rocky marriage. They separated twice before Dayanara, now 38, finally pulled the plug in 2003 -- and Marc was soon spotted with his ex-girlfriend (and current ex-wife) Jennifer Lopez, fueling rumors he'd been cheating on Dayanara. And in a super-classy move, Marc married J.Lo just four days after his divorce was finalized. Marc, 44, also had Dayanara on lockdown after their split, reportedly threatening to fine her $10,000 every time she spoke publicly about him, J.Lo or their kids.
  • They got famous by starring with their twins and sextuplets on TLC's "Jon and Kate Plus Eight," but their bitter 2009 split drew even more attention than their onetime hit show. There were the cheating reports -- first about Jon, 36, later about Kate and her close relationship with their married bodyguard -- not to mention his accusations that Kate, 38, was exploiting the kids and was an absentee mom. These days -- can you believe the twins are 12 and the sextuplets are 9?! -- Kate's a lot more humble as she's "piecing and patching together" an income so she can support her kids. "It feels like a whole other lifetime ago," she told People, adding that she was in "survival mode" post-divorce. "Sometimes I don't even remember much of it. I'm not the same person I was ... I don't even recognize her."
  • The actor and the commercial production employee were only married for a year before they split and bitter, prolonged divorce proceedings began. After their breakup, Michelle filed a restraining order against Terrence, 44, and alleged he'd started abusing her seven days after they wed and had even threatened to throw her over a balcony and kill her -- a claim he denied. Their divorce was finalized in May 2013 but it wasn't over yet: Despite calling it quits, Terrence and Michelle went on a family vacation to Costa Rica together where, according to TMZ, they got into another argument in which the actor allegedly assaulted his ex, although other sources claim it was because she maced him first.
  • They split in 2006 after four years of marriage, after which Heather, 45, accused the Beatle, 71, of everything from being emotionally abusive to physically violent. It all backfired on the former charity campaigner turned "Dancing With the Stars" contestant. Reports soon surfaced alleging she'd once been a call girl, and when their divorce was finalized in 2008, the judge revealed his highly critical comments about Heather in his ruling, writing that, "I am driven to the conclusion that much of her evidence, both written and oral, was not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid." She'd asked for $250 million -- and walked away with considerably less: $48.7 million.
  • The supermodel and the architect's legal battle is one of the juiciest, craziest celeb partings ever. Nothing was off limits: During divorce proceedings, Peter had to talk in open court about receiving oral sex from his 18-year-old assistant during their affair, as well as his penchant for masturbating via webcam -- while Christie, 59, was accused of enjoying the media circus and taking pleasure in their divorce trial being open to the public. They traded potshots for years, including these zingers: "A leading psychiatrist diagnosed him as a extreme narcissist and that's all I want to say," Brinkley said as she left a courtroom in 2009. "I'll accept narcissist over parental interference," Peter shot back, according to the New York Daily News. "This is a bitter, vindictive, angry woman."
  • It started in June 2013 when renowned art collector Charles was photographed with his hands around TV chef Nigella's throat while they ate at a London restaurant. After the photos went public and criticism grew, Charles, 70, made a shocking move a month later: He broke the news that he was divorcing her by issuing a statement to a UK newspaper, claimed she had put her hands on him too, and blamed her for failing to defend him as it all unfolded. Nigella, 53, moved forward with the divorce, but things took another dangerous twist: Charles has since allegedly threatened to kill himself and begged her to take him back -- but she's not budging.
  • They were a couple for more than two decades and had four children together, but after model Jerry discovered that Mick had fathered a child with a Brazilian woman, she filed for divorce. Then Mick shocked the world -- and his wife -- by claiming their 1990 wedding in Bali had never been legally binding. Jerry ended up not just humiliated, but reportedly with far less money -- around $16 million despite Mick's enormous wealth -- than she thought she deserved after years of putting up with the Rolling Stones singer's shenanigans.
  • They tennis star and the Oscar winner separated in 1992 after six years of marriage and three kids together. At the time, he called reports that claimed she couldn't buy a Thanksgiving turkey because he'd canceled her credit cards "wildly inaccurate." She later told the New York Daily News that "John can be difficult," and that "ours was a particularly nasty divorce" as they battled over custody of their kids -- sharing it at first, with John, 54, eventually winning full custody after claiming Tatum was struggling with a drug problem.
