Nelly is in debt. A large debt. TMZ reported Sunday the rapper owes a federal lien amount of $2,412,283 and is trying to work things out with the IRS. He also owes the state of Missouri $149,511.
It is not unusual for celebrities to fall in debt. With a ton of money comes a ton of spending and a ton of responsibility. Despite his success with the 2000 release Country Grammar and its recent diamond certification, the artist still could use some help from his fans to get the ball rolling on paying everything off.

How it Works
According to Spotify, artists receive anywhere between $0.006 and $0.0084 per stream. And when you do the math—and that's exactly what Spin has done—that’s 287,176,547 to 402,880,500 streams before Nelly has everything settled.
Although this may sound like a lot, for a fan it doesn’t take much to help. It only takes a few seconds to find a Nelly playlist and let it jam out while you’re driving, cooking, or whatever else may be on your agenda.
Everyone has at least one Nelly hit that they can still go hard to, so why not help the cause? This is a great way to give back to an artist who has given up great music.
