'Paul McCartney is a PATRONISING f***' Phil Collins lashes out
PHIL COLLINS launched an extraordinary attack on Paul McCartney as he promotes his new Not Dead Yet solo tour and reveals plans for a Genesis reunion.
Things might be a rocky between the pop legends after Collins dropped this bombshell at the weekend.
It all stems from an incident at a Buckingham Palace party for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002.
Collins revealed that he was excited to meet his hero but was shocked and upset when the Beatles legend treated him badly and humilated him in public.
Collins said: "I met him when I was working at the Buckingham Palace Party at the Palace thing back in 2002.
"McCartney came up with Heather Mills and I had a first edition of The Beatles by Hunter Davies and I said, 'Hey Paul, do you mind signing this for me?' And he said, 'Oh Heather, our little Phil's a bit of a Beatles fan.'
"And I thought, 'You f**k, you f**k.' Never forgot it."
Collins made the shock comments during an interview with the Sunday Times to promote his new Not Dead Yet Live tour, which kicks off in June next year.
added: "I've got to preface this by saying McCartney was one of my heroes. But he has this thing when he's talking to you, where he makes you feel ...[putting on a condescending Scouse accent] 'I know this must be hard for you, because I'm a Beatle. I'm Paul McCartney and it must be very hard for you to actually be holding a conversation with me.'"
Collins launched his Not Dead Yet tour at the Royal Albert Hall, appearing in public with a cane to help him walk after back surgery.
The drummer admitted that he is plagued with pain, but assured fans that adrenalin helps him get through performances.
The 65-year-old has also finally spoken out over the latest rumours that a full Genesis reunion could happen soon, ruling out a full tour but giving hope that something on a smaller scale was possible.
