This year, music promoter Goldenvoice announced that it would be the first year of "Desert Trip," a music festival held in California this October celebrating older bands and musicians including Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones. The festival sold out within a day, showing that there is still a strong interest to watch these classic musicians rock on.
PrettyFamous, an entertainment site by Graphiq, ranked the top 70 musicians who are 70 or older. Each musician is ranked by his or her "Musician Score," a score out of 100 that takes into account: a musician's Wikipedia pageviews over the last 30 days, Wikipedia pageviews over the last 30 days of the bands they were/are in, the Wikipedia pageviews of their releases (both solo and with groups) and the number of followers they have on Spotify. Ties were broken by age, with older musicians ranking higher.

Many of these artists are still writing, producing and touring. The oldest musician on the list is in her 90s — her first hit went to the top of the charts in 1944. Some of these artists have defined entire genres of music and fans are lucky to have a chance to see them perform.
